CATALOG DESCRIPTION: This is a gross human anatomy course that takes a regional approach to the study of body systems through the dissection of cadavers.
DESCRIPTION: This is a gross human anatomy course that takes a regional approach to the study of body systems through the dissection of cadavers.
TOPICS: Introduction, Cadaver Care and Safety, Surface Anatomy, Anatomy of the Pectoral Region and Upper Extremity, Anatomy of the Thorax, Anatomy of the Abdomen, Anatomy of the Pelvis and Perineum, Anatomy of the Lower Extremity, Anatomy of the Back, Vertebral Column and Spinal Cord, Anatomy of the Neck and Head.
OBJECTIVES: 1. To facilitate an understanding of the geographical relationships of anatomical structures from various body systems.

2. To provide students with a hands on dissection experience under the close direction of faculty.

3. To develop within students a greater appreciation for the human body.
REQUIREMENTS: Two practical exams are given on external anatomy and internal anatomy. These two tests constitute 40% of the grade and will consist of structure identification on cadavers.

A dissection project will be graded on the care and detail of the dissection area assigned. This constitutes 60% of the grade.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of BIO 264 and consent of the instructor.
OTHER: $20 Lab Fee
