DESCRIPTION: First semester of a course covering the fundamental concepts of physical chemistry. This course provides a theoretical and mathematical description of the physical behavior of chemical systems.
TOPICS: States of Matter, Thermodynamics and Equilibria, Kinetics.
OBJECTIVES: *Develop a fundamental understanding of the stated topics.
*Broaden the students' understanding of physical and mathematical sciences by intergrating mathematical principles with chemistry and physics based concepts.
REQUIREMENTS: Typically 5 unit exams, 10 quizzes, and a final exam.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Math 113, Math 215 or Math 119 is required. Completion of Math 316 or Math 341 is recommended.
