DESCRIPTION: Data collection for classical physical chemistry experiments, laboratory experience with modern instrumentation, report preparation.
TOPICS: Classical physical chemistry experiments, including calorimetry, kinetics, and electrochemistry. Application of a variety of instrumental techniques.
OBJECTIVES: Develop experience using classical physical chemistry experimental techniques.
Develop experience using modern instrumental methods.
Understand basic principles of instrumentation.
Critically evaluate experimental data.
Incorporation of sound data acquisition and critical data analysis into lab report preparation
REQUIREMENTS: Typically 10 laboratory experiments including laboratory report for each.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in Chem 462
