DESCRIPTION: Second semester of a course covering the fundamental concepts of physical chemistry. This course provides a theoretical and mathematical description of the physical behavior of chemical systems.
TOPICS: Kinetic-Molecular Theory, Quantum Mechanics, Group Theory, Atomic and Molecular Structure, Spectroscopy.
OBJECTIVES: Develop a fundamental understanding of the stated topics.
Broaden the students' understanding of physical and mathematical sciences by
integrating mathematical principles with chemistry and physics based concepts.
REQUIREMENTS: Typically 5 unit exams, 10 quizzes, and a final exam.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Chem 461
