| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | Intermediate Physics Laboratory for Physics and Physical Science Teaching Majors. Experimental investigations into electricity and magnetism and optics. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | This course is intended to give experience in conducting, analyzing and reporting experiments dealing with electricity, magnetism, and wave optics. | ||
| TOPICS: | Basic statistics, experimental design, numerical modeling, circuit elements, computer integration, LabView, wave interference. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | Become acquainted with laboratory equipment and its limitations. Take, analyze and interpret data. Estimate uncertainty in data. Computer data acquisition. Develop computational modeling skills. Communicating technical information. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | Student Lab reports for each lab experience, group work, a student designed experiment. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Math 112, Physics 150. Concurrent Registration or completion of Physics 220. Math Level: Extensive use of college algebra, trigonometry, and elementary calculus. |
