|CATALOG DESCRIPTION:||Intermediate Physics Laboratory for Physics and Physical Science Teaching Majors. Experimental investigations into electricity and magnetism and optics.|
|DESCRIPTION:||This course is intended to give experience in conducting, analyzing and reporting experiments dealing with electricity, magnetism, and wave optics.|
|TOPICS:||Basic statistics, experimental design, numerical modeling, circuit elements, computer integration, LabView, wave interference.|
|OBJECTIVES:||Become acquainted with laboratory equipment and its limitations. Take, analyze and interpret data. Estimate uncertainty in data. Computer data acquisition. Develop computational modeling skills. Communicating technical information.|
|REQUIREMENTS:||Student Lab reports for each lab experience, group work, a student designed experiment.|
|PREREQUISITES:||Math 112, Physics 150. Concurrent Registration or completion of Physics 220.
Math Level: Extensive use of college algebra, trigonometry, and elementary calculus.
