CATALOG DESCRIPTION: This is an introductory course to the Professional Preschool Education and Early Childhood/Special Education programs; however, this course is also opened to any student with instructors permission. The course will deal with historical background, theories, professional issues, and educational practices including "developmentally appropriate" and special education curriculum.

OBJECTIVES: - Understand history & professional issues, learning theories, and beginning philosophy, curriculum and guidance concepts for Early Childhood Education and parenting.

REQUIREMENTS: -Child lab observations, beginning curriculum file and a beginning educational philosophy paper.
