CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Preparing, creating and teaching young children the curriculum areas of Language, Arts, Math, Science, Music, Movement Education, Social Studies. Creativity and competence in the curriculum areas are stressed. Professional Preschool Education majors should take this class before or concurrently with ECSE 240.

TOPICS:
OBJECTIVES: Students will learn to scope of the major areas of curriculum in early childhood education. They will develop basic philosophy, skills, and materials needed to provide appropriate experiences for young children that will foster their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
REQUIREMENTS: Students will develop a resource file of materials to use when teaching young children.
