CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Working closely with an experienced professional in facilitating the Lead Teacher and Support Teacher's efforts in the preschool labs. The Supervisor is a team leader with responsibility for staff development, in-service training, parent communication, budgets, records and overall running of preschool labs.

The Supervisor is a team leader with responsibility for staff development, in-service training, parent communication, budgets, records and overall running of preschool labs.
TOPICS: Preschool Budgeting, Working with Parents, Evaluating Student Teacher Planning and Performance, Student Inservice Training, and Facility/Resource Management and Maintenance
OBJECTIVES: Students will supervise student staff working in campus preschool lab facilities, work with parents of children, control a small operating budget, oversee lab facilities and equipment maintenance, and insure that lab program meets NAEYC accreditation standards.

REQUIREMENTS: Students will prepare and conduct preschool parent orientation meeting. They will teach five inserve lessons for lab students staff, observe students and complete formative and summative evaluations of lab staff.
PREREQUISITES: CHILD 260, HS 222 or current first aid/CPR certificate, concurrent enrollment in CHILD 290R, and consent of instructor.
