CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Survey of issues regarding ethics in Computer Science.
DESCRIPTION:
TOPICS: Contribute to society and human well-being; Avoid harm to others; Be honest and trustworthy; Be fair and take action not to discriminate; Honor property rights including copyrights and patent; Give proper credit for intellectual property; Respect the privacy of others; Honor confidentiality.
OBJECTIVES: The objective of the series of courses is to increase awareness of the Computer Science major regarding ethics associated with computing, peers, the profession, society in general.
REQUIREMENTS: Class attendance is required and is part of the grade. Each student is required to participate in group discussions.
PREREQUISITES: Eng 111/111C and CS 165
