CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Introduction to analog and digital electronic communication. Theory of amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, pulse modulation, antennas and transmission lines. Transmitters, receivers, oscillators, and antennas are built and tested. Student presentations are required. Laboratory exercises are included.

Transmitters, receivers, oscillators, and antennas are built and tested. Student presentations are required. Laboratory exercises are included. Computers are used to transmit and receive digital information, document projects, and write reports. Laboratory exercises are included.
TOPICS: Transmitters, amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, pulse and digital modulation, antennas and transmission lines.
OBJECTIVES: Be able to construct and test oscilloscope circuits: Colpitts, Hartley, Phase Shift oscillators, etc.; 2. Understand the operation, and be able to select/assemble/use/test communication circuits found in transmitting equipment: transmitters, amplitude modulators, frequency modulators, pulse and digital modulators, antennas and transmission lines.
