| DESCRIPTION: |
The capstone course is designed as a variable content course allowing seniors to explore topics of interest to them, while using analysis tools developed during their course of study. A capstone research paper will emerge from the work. Students will work closely with a primary faculty advisor (chosen on the basis of the topic and the professor's areas of expertise) to integrate key elements from the past coursework into a significant piece of economic anaylsis. As a way of providing more choices, the Economics department will encourage students to fulfill their capstone experience by: (1) completing a consulting project for a business, government agency, or non-profit organization, (2) completing a basic research project in an economics field, or (3) performing community service using skills taught in the economics field. Students should pick the option they believe will help them prgress toward their chosen career path. |
