| OBJECTIVES: |
- Read texts representing a cultural period--literature, history, philosophy, etc.
- Explore the relationship among literature and other cultural texts representing that period.
- Learn methods of inquiry in another relevant discipline.
- Write an interdisciplinary paper on a literary text and its cultural milieu.

| REQUIREMENTS: |
Readings in primary literature; readings in secondary historical, cultural, and theoretical sources; short analysis and summary papers; a significant senior paper modeled after published examples of literary criticism. Requires 20 pages of edited prose. MLA documentation. |
