| CATALOG DESCRIPTION: | Study of concepts, strategies, tools and ethical issues involved in the use of the Internet. Focuses on design and construction of XHTML web pages including development and management of Internet and Intranet web sites, and XML. | ||
| DESCRIPTION: | The World Wide Web and its offshoots, intranets and extranets, are changing the ways that businesses operate and that we all relate to the rest of the world. An expedition on the Web shows that not all sites are equally useful, interesting, or well designed. The goal of this course is to provide students with the means to plan, design, develop, publish, maintain, and publicize Web sites purposefully targeted to a particular audience. The students will combine the concepts, strategies, tools, and ethical issues of the Internet in developing effective Web sites. |

| OBJECTIVES: | 1. Enable students to find information on the Internet. 2. Teach students how to create effective and navigationally efficient web pages. 3. Enable students to follow a structured approach to learning XHTML, Style Sheets, JavaScript, and simple Java applets. 4. Encourage the use of multiple methods of web page development. |
