Daily journal writing; formal writing assignments; grammar practice; weekly meetings with a conversation partner (tutor) in the Reading Lab. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
- Practice the writing process by prewriting, drafting, rewriting, and editing papers.
- Improve basic skills of standard English through group and individual instruction.
- Improve English "thinking" skills by listening, speaking, reading, and writing in authentic situations.
- Help students make a smooth transition to a new culture by discussing the "expectations" of American writing teachers.
