| DESCRIPTION: | Survey of texts from the Pre-Columbian era through the contemporary scene. | ||
| TOPICS: | Major authors, periods, and issues in the history of Spanish-American literature. | ||
| OBJECTIVES: | Students will become familiar with the principal writers, themes, and questions of Spanish- American literature. Students will develop both an appreciation for the development of that literature through time and an increased ability to deal with a given text as literature per se. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | Requirements will vary from section to section, but attendance, consistent and lively participation, exams and written work may be required. | ||
