CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Acquisition of basic languge skills, listening and speaking first, followed by reading and writing.
DESCRIPTION: Extensive repetitive practice, using comprehensible input, of the speaking, and listening skills. Retention support of these skills through reading and some writing.
TOPICS: basic vocabulary, structure, and culture.
OBJECTIVES: Broaden the student's understanding and appreciation of English. Achieve a rudimentary ability to speak, comprehend, read and write German. Promote a life-long desire to investigate interests, and needs using a foreign languge as an active tool.
REQUIREMENTS: Attendance, participation in and completion of assignments, exercises, quizzes, etc.
PREREQUISITES: This course is for beginners, students with less than a year and a half of high school German.
