CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Applying elementary chemical principles to understand geologic processes and materials.
DESCRIPTION: This course teaches students how to apply the principles of chemistry to geologic systems and materials. Both high- and low-temperature systems and materials will be covered.

OBJECTIVES: Help students understand and use basic chemical principles in studying Earth systems and materials.
REQUIREMENTS: This class requires significant preparation for and participation in class. Field trips are also required.
