DESCRIPTION: Introduction to the general principles of disease. Etiology, signs, symptoms, treatment and management of diseases that affect individuals and their various body systems.
TOPICS: The first section deals with the general concepts of how disease affects the total body. The second section considers the various affects of the disease processes on the organs and body systems.
OBJECTIVES: The student will be able to:
1. Provide a concise definition of the disease process
2. Provide a complete understanding of how pathogens cause disease
3. Provide a complete understanding of the procedures for detecting, diagnosing, and treating diseases.
