CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Health for the secondary teacher, emphasizing his or her role as a health educator, methodologies of teaching, and a wide variety of strategies for teaching health education.
DESCRIPTION: Health for the secondary teacher, emphasizing his or her role as a health educator, methodologies of teaching, and a wide variety of strategies for teaching health education.
TOPICS: All forms of health education.
OBJECTIVES: Each student will leave the class with:
1. A complete background of health education.
2. A complete understanding of teaching strategies and understand which ones work for the different types of learners.
3. The ability to teach health principles in a manner that will positively effect their students in decision making choices.
4. A complete understanding of all aspects of being an organized teacher.
REQUIREMENTS:
PREREQUISITES: HS 131 or 131W, BIO 264, BIO 265. Must be a declared Health Education Major or Minor in junior or senior year.
