DESCRIPTION: Survey of issues regarding ethics in Computer Science.
TAUGHT: Winter, Fall
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Contribute to society and human well-being; Avoid harm to others; Be honest and trustworthy; Be fair and take action not to discriminate; Honor property rights including copyrights and patent; Give proper credit for intellectual property; Respect the privacy of others; Honor confidentiality.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Apply ethical principles to career situations.
2. Recognize that ethical principles may conflict.
3. Justify ethical choices.
REQUIREMENTS: Class attendance is required and is part of the grade. Each student is required to participate in group discussions.
PREREQUISITES: Eng 111/111C and CS 165
