| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Demonstrate an understanding of stratigraphic principle. 2. Know significant stratigrapic units of North America. 3. Know geologic time scale and how it developed. 4. Identify with name and age. 80 Common guide fossils. 5. Know the Theory of Evolution and evidence to support it. 6. Know the Theory of Plate Tectonics and how it relates to the history of the earth. 7. Know the general geologic history of North America. 8. Know the concept of facies and relate to geologic history. 9. Know representative life forms for each geologic period. |
