|DESCRIPTION:||Interpreting and writing welding procedures and welder qualifications and specifications. Welding to AWS, API, and ASME codes to meet the entry level employment standards for code work. Training in SMAW, STAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes for qualification of welders in all positions on plate, pipe and rebar. May be taken more than once. A qualification test will be given at end of course by a qualified Certified Welding Testing Lab.|

|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||Students will:

2. Interpret Welding Procedure Specifications.
3. Weld in compliance to performance qualifications.
4. Keep performance and procedure qualification records.
5. Know correct nomenclature of Inspections & Qualification Specifics.
6. Identify Basic Metals & Non-metals.
7. Know weld symbols and weld inspection symbols.
8. Use correct reinforcement specifications as reference.
9. Use sheet steel specifications as reference.

NOTE: All W.P.S. and Lab Assignments must be completed before taking W.Q. Test!
