GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: This course explores modern dance from a kinesthetic approach of simple and complex movement patterns and rhythms. Class material includes Improvisation, choreography, conditioning of the body, and methods of dance/body therapy and modern dance history.

CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1.Develop an understanding and the application of kinesthetic awareness.
2.Increase thechnical ability through an understanding of body mechanics.
3.Incorporate conditioning as a tool for enhancing dance technique.
4.Discover a joy for movement and how dance can positively influence your individual lives.
REQUIREMENTS: Class attendance and participation is required. Practical and written evaluations and final exam.
PREREQUISITES: Dance 140 or consent of instructor.
