GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: A course designed to train a person to teach all forms of social dance including ballroom and world, with an emphasis on recreational dancing.
TAUGHT: Winter
CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1.Develop a teaching proficiency in American style ballroom dancing.
2.Improve skills in using and applying the syllabus book.
3.Increase self-confidence in a dance environment.
4.Learn to call the different dances according to the music.
5.Learn to create mixers and line-dances based on a theme.
6.Learn to teach proper social dance etiquette.
7.Develop marketing skills in order to promote dance activities.
8.Become more aware of the positive and negative effects that music and dance can have on the spirit.
REQUIREMENTS: Class attendance and participation is required. Practical and written evaluations and final exam.
PREREQUISITES: Dance 170, 172, 180 or consent of instructor.
