GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: A course designed to train a person to teach all forms of dance including elements of creativity, studio management, and children's dance.

CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1.Understand the important role that teaching plays in training a dancer.
2.Formulate and have a knowledge of appropriate class content.
3.Understand and be able to articulate what is expected from the students.
4.Have the ability to select and use music content and correct principles in the classroom.
5.Understand the importance of creative movement for children.
6.Understand the basic elements of dance and how they work together to create an art form.
REQUIREMENTS: Attendance and participation are required. Written and Practical exams and a final exam.
PREREQUISITES: DA 240 and DA 242
