| DESCRIPTION: | A course designed to develop skills of social dancing. Five of the following dances will be taught each semester: waltz, foxtrot, cha cha, swing (various styles), west coast swing, mambo, tango, rumba. | ||

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1.Develop a proficiency in American style ballroom dancing. 2. Increase self-confidence and enjoyment in a dance environment. 3.Learn to discriminate the different dances according to the music. 4.Learn and practice proper social dance etiquette. 5.Become more aware of the positive and negative effects that music and dance can have on the spirit. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Class attendance and participation is required. Practical and written evaluations and final exam. | ||
