| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Examine the government structure, politics, economics, and history of the countries of Russia. 2. Examine and compare the cultural characteristics of the countries of Russia. 3. Examine and discuss the current issues in the countries of Russia. 4. Appreciate, understand, and be open to cultural differences and varying worldviews of different peoples, through study and discussions of this region. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Teaching methods include lecture, readings, and student presentations. Assessments come from quizzes and presentation evaluations. Regular attendance is required. All faculty give assignments, but each determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests. |
