| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | An examination of Chinese culture from ancient to modern times. Topics vary, but may include: geography, history, politics, family, social issues, religion, language, literature, and thought. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Examine the government structure, politics, economics, and history of the countries of China. 2. Examine and compare the cultural characteristics of the countries of China. 3. Examine and discuss the current issues in the countries of China. 4. Appreciate, understand, and be open to cultural differences and varying worldviews of different peoples, through study and discussions of this region. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Teaching methods will include lectures, videos, discussions, and cooperative learning. Assessments will be based on quizzes, exams, embedded questions, essays, and summaries. Regular attendance is required. All faculty give assignments, but each determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests. |
