Builds expertise for developing, designing and editing professional documents. Provides students both advanced instruction and opportunities for "real-world" applications. (Culminating course for English Major/Professional Writing Emphasis.) |

Advanced editing; document design; current usage; style. |
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: |
- Create technical documents appropriate for business, medicine, and industry.
- Revise and edit documents based on purpose, audience, message, style, and tone.
- Apply principles of design, format, and layout.
- Gain practical editing and writing experience in both classroom and "real world" situations.
- Understand the collaborative roles of technical writers and editors.
- Apply fundamentals of publishing (e.g. working with desktop software, galley proofs, and publishers).

| REQUIREMENTS: |
Complete readings, exercises, assignments, presentations, various in-class and out-of-class projects. Pass an in-class editing test. |
