Focuses on workshops, document production, portfolio preparation, and editing. Prepares students for creative publishing. (Culminating course for English Majors/Creative Writing Emphasis.) |

Standards and methods of creative writing workshops; professional documentation; creative writing publications and markets; editing and production of a literary magazine. |
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: |
- Learn about the contemporary creative writing market.
- Create professional quality queries, submission letters, and proposals.
- Submit work to a national publication.
- Explore graduate creative writing education opportunities.
- Facilitate the publication of Outlet: The BYU-Idaho Student Literary Journal.
- Organize and participate in peer writing groups.
<1i>Give public readings of one's best work. <1i>Refine one's personal aesthetic and the understanding of one's writing temperament.

| REQUIREMENTS: |
Write and revise poems, stories, essays, and dramatic scenes, workshopping them with peers and the teacher. Create professional documents. Submit an original creative piece to a professional journal or magazine. Produce a portfolio representing a body of creative work produced at BYU-Idaho. Serve on the student editorial board of Outlet. |
