GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Supervised practice and development of spanish teaching skills.
TAUGHT: Fall, Winter, and Summer
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Topics covered will be determined by the supervising teacher based on his/her evaluation of the student's needs during the mentoring process. Possible topics could include lesson planning, lecturing, classroom management, creation of effective activities, supervising group work, homework assignments, test development and grading, foreign language drills, specific foreign language teaching methods, etc.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: -Gain invaluable experience in teaching a beginning Spanish class.
-Hone teaching skills, learn new approaches, put into practice diverse pedagogical techniques, and obtain a greater understanding of just what effective teaching entails.
-Take advantage of a more seasoned instructor and therefore avoid many pitfalls and mistakes.
REQUIREMENTS: Lesson planning, lecture, classroom management, activities creation, test creation, teaching, preparation, clarity of presentation.
PREREQUISITES: Spanish 377 with grade of "C" or better. For Spanish Teaching Majors ONLY.
