GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Systematic focus on grammar, listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
TAUGHT: Fall
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Basic speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills and knowledge of the grammar to enable the students to participate in an in-depth grammar review throughout the semester. Emphasis will also be placed on Russian word formation, including roots and prefixes.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: -Increase the understanding of Russian grammar including declension of nouns and adjectives in all six cases.
-Express self in writing in extended discourse about themes that are of interest.
-Increase vocabulary by learning approximately 80-90 new roots as well as certain prefixes and suffixes.
-Read unabridged literary passages in Russian.
REQUIREMENTS: Cooperative learning, lecture, discussion, performance activities, independent research, written assignments, essays, in-class checks, quizzes, unit tests.
PREREQUISITES: Russian 202 with a grade of "C" or better, or consent of instructor.
