|GENERAL EDUCATION:||This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.|
|DESCRIPTION:||Systematic focus on grammar, listening, speaking, writing, and reading.|
|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||Basic speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills and knowledge of the grammar to enable the student to participate in an in-depth grammar review throughout the semester. Emphasis will also be placed on Russian word formation, including roots and prefixes.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||-Deepen understanding of Russian grammar including verbal aspect, gerunds and participles, and declension and use of numerals.
-Be able to express self in writing in extended discourse about themes that are of interest.
-Increase vocabulary by learning approximately 80-90 new roots as well as certain prefixes and suffixes.
-Read unabridged literary passages in Russian.
|REQUIREMENTS:||Cooperative learning, lecture, discussion, performance activities, independent research, written assignments, essays, in-class checks, worksheets, quizzes, unit tests.|
|PREREQUISITES:||Russian 301 with a grade of "C" or better, or consent of instructor.|
