|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||Grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||-Understand, initiate, sustain, and close conversations based on general topics, moving from sentence-level grammar and conversational exchanges to more extended paragraph length discourse.
-Refine and extend writing ability to include short, descriptive essays, letters, etc.
-Read paragraph-length discourse and be able to summarize and discuss orally, distinguishing between literary and vernacular Chinese.
|REQUIREMENTS:||Oral production interviews, cooperative oral testing, communicative tasks, quizzes, exams, journals, and computer-adaptive test.|
|PREREQUISITES:||Chinese 102 with a grade of "C" or better, or consent of instructor.|
