DESCRIPTION: This course covers all the major topics of the post-Civil War period in U.S. History with emphasis on the events and movements of the 20th century.

CONTENT AND TOPICS: Industrializaiton, progressivism, WWI & WWII, the Depression, the Cold War, becoming cultural, economic, and a military super-power.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Introduce factual timelines and interpretive historic cultural themes.
Assess and evaluate specific historic experiences by correlating general cultural historic themes.
Defend and debate competing historic interpretations.
Comprehend the reality of a historic culture through a more readily accessible personal life.
