|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||Principles for analyzing literature, study of symbols, figures of speech, word histories, themes, genres, etc.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||-Write cohesive summaries, analyses and reflective responses to literature reflecting sound organization, relevant content, and effective paragraph development.
-Read, interpret, and analyze samples of genres of literature.
-Analyze in writing and in group discussion a literary work, critiquing the piece in terms of plot, setting, background, literary devices, themes, and subject and aesthetic effectiveness.
