|DESCRIPTION:||Survey in English of 19th and 20th Century Russian Literature: Pushkin to Solshenitsyn|
|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||Russian literature and its common themes and movements, Russian culture, biographies of main Russian authors, and the connection between Russian literature and character.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||-Develop the ability to analyze and appreciate Russian literary texts in translation.
-Be able to express thoughts more articulately and persuasively in English, and to present ideas logically, with sound argumentation and strong evidence.
-Enhance appreciation of Russian culture by examining how Russia's major authors have treated cultural issues in their most famous works.
