|DESCRIPTION:||This course will explore the relationships between the environmental, cultural, economic, and demographic processes reshaping North America as an example of the geography of developed nations and the nature of regional geography.|

|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||Topics include the climate, topography, biomes, cultural patterns, history, demography, religions, languages, and urban patterns of North America.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||Identify and be able to explain key terms and concepts associated with the physical features, climate, history, politics, economies, and cultures of North America.
Identify and label North America's key physical and cultural features.
Acquire (by experience and research) a better understanding of basic place-name geography in North America.
Write a research paper about a region of Middle America or the Caribbean.
Organize and teach a lesson on a region of Middle America or the Caribbean.
Organize and produce a study guide based on your presentation.
Participate in class by sharing personal views and asking pertinent questions.
Acquire both an appreciation for cultural geography and a desire to learn more.
