DESCRIPTION: The study of the distribution of diseases and pathophysiological conditions of humans and of factors which influence their occurrence. The course requires an understanding of the statistical principles.

CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The students will: 1) recognize and understand the numerous terms used in epidemiological practices, 2) develop an understanding of the specific areas covered by epidemiological practices, 3) demonstrate an understanding of the statistical analysis of epidemiology and how graphs help explain disease and health concerns, 4) understand the functional processes of epidemiology, 5) recognize the past and what the future might be concerning health and the disease process.
REQUIREMENTS: 4 exams of 100 points each, 14 exercises of 10 points each.
