DESCRIPTION: Selection and construction of children's clothing using the serger and sewing machine. Projects include bib, booties, sleeper, t-shirt, cap, pants, dress, coat, and mittens. No sewing experience required. Materials approximately $45.00 or more.
TAUGHT: Fall, Winter, Summer
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Serger, threading serger, serger tension, sewing machine, fabrics, patterns, cutting out, construction of t-shirt, bib, pants, booties, coat, cap, mittens, dress, sleeper
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Thread and adjust the tension of the serger to create a balanced stitch.
2. Construct the following articles of children's clothing: bib, t-shirt, pants, cap, booties, sleepers, coat, mittens and dress.
3. Use quick methods of sewing construction without minimizing the quality of the finished product.
4. Enjoy the art of sewing while developing talents.
