GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Reading Latin prose writers and study of Roman culture. Continuation of Latin 101, second semester.
TAUGHT:
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Primarily readings stressing grammar. Text used is the "Cambridge Latin Course" Unit 3.

This course uses an encouraging, inductive approach that has students reading increasingly more difficult Latin passages, starting on the first day of class.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To progress in learning to read, write, and speak the Latin language by studying Latin prose writers and studying Roman culture. Learn about the culture. Understanding Latin increases a students vocabulary in their native language, makes them better spellers, encourages you to think, speak, and write more effectively, improves analytical thinking, and helps you gain an appreciation for Western Culture.
REQUIREMENTS: Daily quizzes, 4-5 exams, short cultural written and oral report, in-class drilling and translation.
PREREQUISITES: You must have taken Latin 101/101H or its equivalent (1 year of high school Latin).

You must have a 3.5 or higher accumulative GPA to take an Honors course.
