GENERAL EDUCATION: This course fulfills a General Education - Religion requirement.

DESCRIPTION: A study of the Old Testament from Joshua through Malachi.
TAUGHT: Winter, Fall
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Conquest of Canaan; period of the Judges; Samuel, the Prophet; the United Monarchy under Saul, David, Solomon; the divided kingdom; Canaanite religion; the scattering of Israel and Judah; the return of the Jews from exile; the books of poetry; and the prophets.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Know names, events, and dates concerning Israel from Joshua (1250BC) to Malachi (432 BC).
2. Know major topics of major prophets Isaiah to Malachi, including the scattering and 2nd gathering of Israel.
3. Relate doctrines, events, and God's dealing with people to the present day.
REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance is required. All faculty give assignments, but each determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests.
PREREQUISITES: Student must have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA to take an Honor's course.
