|DESCRIPTION:||A practical course of layout and construction techniques for landscape projects. Considered are masonry, wood structures, irrigation and plant installations.|
|CONTENT AND TOPICS:|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||1. Experience and learn various landscape skills: installation of concrete pavers and sprinklers, surveying, boulder placement, Eurostone texture, installation of steel edging, stream construction, grading, planting layout and installation, step construction using Celtic Wall and caps, and landscape lighting.
2. Have access to machinery and time to develop basic skills using machinery.
3. Supervise a crew of fellow students on a periodic basis.
4. Learn to see and construct "details" of a project that make a landscape a special place to be.
|PREREQUISITES:||Hort 130, LHM major or consent of instructor.|
