GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: An overview of all facets of Human Resource including strategies and environment, diversity, Equal Employment Opportunity laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act; recruiting, selecting, training, and development; performance appraisals, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, and OSHA regulations. The course will include solving case studies, and students will design presentations and conduct Human Resource activities.

CONTENT AND TOPICS: This course includes human resource planning, recruiting, training, compensating, and communicating strategies
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Understand the basic concepts and facets of human resource management.

Develop and use a human resource vocabulary.

Develop skills in teaching human resource concepts and in training others.

Design appropriate human resource activities.

Implement the training plan.

Demonstrate understanding of the reading material.

Work in various teams, understand diversity, and learn to compromise.

Assess others' work.

Participate in discussions.
