| DESCRIPTION: |
Introduction to the use of microcomputers in business. Emphasis is on learning how to use spreadsheet and database applications to solve business problems. |

| CONTENT AND TOPICS: |
- Development and implementation of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Development and implementation of Microsoft Access databases
- Integration of these applications with word processing and world wide web documents

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: |
- Develop experience and skills in using spreadsheets.
- Implement built-in functions as well as build formulas to solve business problems.
- Create and modify charts and pivot tables.
- Integrate with other applications.
- Demonstrate skill and knowledge in using a Database Management System including creating tables, queries, forms, and reports.

| REQUIREMENTS: |
Complete case problems at the end of each tutorial, take quizzes, tests, and the final exam using a simulation testing package. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
Basic computer literacy including the use of a word processor and file management. Be able to type at least 35 words a minute. |
