Introduction to the management of information technology with a focus on current and emerging technologies and their relationship to business organizations.

  • Developing and implementing information systems

  • Telecommunication and network computing

  • Electronic commerce
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

  1. Explore current and emerging technologies in business.

  2. Recognize wise use of information systems by case studies.

  3. Evaluate ethical, legal, security and privacy considerations when dealing with technology.

  4. Present how technology can improve business performance.

  5. Explore telecommunications and networks.

  6. Know what e-commerce is and learn how it can be used to gain a competitive advantage.
REQUIREMENTS: Group presentation showing how technology can be used to improve a business. Opinion papers on current and emerging trends in information system. Tests and Exams to demonstrate understanding.
