|DESCRIPTION:||Content tailored to the individual needs and interests of the students. Investigation and/or application of mathematical principles under the guidance of a faculty mentor.|
|CONTENT AND TOPICS:|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||1. Summarize main concepts and ideas from the student's undergraduate curriculum.
2. Illustrate connecting threads of thought between various mathematical subjects.
3. Provide a guided hands on research experience.
4. Strengthen oral and communication skills.
|REQUIREMENTS:||All students must have access to their own textual materials and appropriate technology. (The Math Department can provide a limited amount of technological support through lab facilities on campus.) All students will be required to report the results of their investigations both orally and in writing. Other appropriate forms of assessment will be determined by the facilitator and the student's mentor according to the nature of each student's project.|
