| DESCRIPTION: | A single semester course for keyboard majors and music therapy students designed to apply principles learned in music theory classes to the keyboard. | ||

| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | Diatonic and chromatic harmonization of traditional folk and pop materials with some excerpts from classics; introduction to jazz harmony and 20th Century techniques, with focus on developng abiity to improvise and create. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Apply concepts learned in music theory to small pieces. 2. Develop skill of creating modulations. 3. Utilize a variety of accompaniment patterns appropriately. 4. Improvise in a variety of idioms. 5. Illustrate basic understanding of pop and jazz harmony. |
