| DESCRIPTION: | This course consists of the final preparation and presentation of a juried recital during the final semester of coursework (excluding Student Teaching semester if applicable). Included also is the presentation and acceptance of a pre-recital hearing to a faculty panel at least three weeks prior to the scheduled recital date. A written theoretical and historical analysis. | ||

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | Apply the acquired skills and understanding of performance, music theory, and music history, and music expressiveness. | ||
| REQUIREMENTS: | The student is to present 50 minutes of music selected from the standard solo recital repertoire for his instrument. Chamber music, other than sonatas with piano, will not fill this requirement. A minimum of 20 minutes of music must be performed from memory. A written theoretical and historical analysis/description of the music to be performed is to be submitted one week prior to the pre-recital hearing. The pre-recital hearing will verify the student's adequate preparation and understanding of all aspects of the music programmed including performance ability, theoretical and formal analysis, historical understanding and context, etc. | ||
