GENERAL EDUCATION: This course fulfills a General Education - Religion requirement.

DESCRIPTION: A study of the basic doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as taught in the scriptures and by Latter-day prophets.
TAUGHT: Winter, Fall, Summer
CONTENT AND TOPICS: This course is designed to help the student systematically study the principles and doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ from the four standard works of the Church and selected statements of the latter-day prophets. The fundamental principles and doctrines of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ-organized under thirty-seven headings.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of the content of the student manual.
2. Demonstrate a desire to study and understand selected doctrines.
3. Understand the concept of "doctrine," "application," and "principles."
4. Demonstrate ability to discuss selected doctrines in a meaningful and academically rigorous manner.
5. Demonstrate behavior which shows an interest in and enjoyment of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
REQUIREMENTS: Regular attendance is required. All faculty give assignments, but each determines his/her own combination of text assignments, projects, and tests.
